Certified Professional for Usability and User Experience – Usability Testing and Evaluation (CPUX-UT)
CPUX-UT Training
- This seminar will familiarise you with terms, concepts and methods of evaluation and usability testing.
- Short, theoretical units are followed by extensive exercises.
- Targeted preparation for the CPUX-UT theoretical and practical exam
- In the practical exam you will conduct a usability test.
- The content of the seminar is based on the syllabus of the International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB®).
Certification exam
- The certification exams, theory and practice, are independent of the training in terms of time. Once you have taken the first exam, the second exam must also be taken within 6 months.
- You can start with the exam of your choice – theory or practice.
Theoretical exam
- The theoretical exam is online and identical in procedure to the CPUX-F exam.
- You have 90 minutes to answer the 40 multiple-choice questions.
- There are 15 extra minutes if you are not a native speaker of the exam language.
- A CPUX-F certificate is required to take the theoretical exam. You are welcome to participate in the training even without an F certificate, but basic knowledge of UX and human-centered design is desirable.
Practical exam
- Ideally, you should prepare for the practical exam before the exam day: gathering and preparing the necessary documents to be submitted (approx. 4 hours).
- The exam day itself lasts between 8 and 11 hours.
- You will conduct the two usability test sessions online.
Various formats
You can choose between online participation and an in-person event. We also offer our training courses on-site at your premises for your teams. In-house training courses are ideal if you want to train an entire team, for example.

The CPUX-F certificate is a prerequisite for participation in the certification exam. You are welcome to attend the seminar even without an F certificate, but basic knowledge of UX and human-centered design is desirable.

- 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- The exam takes place online after a personal appointment has been made.
- 3 days (content, exercises, mock exam, summary)
- 9:00 a.m. to approx. 5:30 p.m.
- All days are available for content, exercises, training questions, and questions from participants, as well as discussion of these topics.
- The training takes place at the Spiegel Institute or in centrally located premises.
- The exam takes place online after a personal appointment has been made.
