CPUX-UR Training

  • In this seminar you will learn to derive and prioritise relevant user needs and user requirements systematically and purposefully from the context of use.
  • The seminar familiarises you with the terms, concepts and methods of user requirements engineering.
  • Short, theoretical units are followed by extensive exercises
  • Specific preparation for the theoretical and practical CPUX-UR exam
  • In the practical exam, you identify requirements from an as-is scenario, derive user requirements and assign these to a suitable task model.
  • The contents of the seminar are based on the curriculum of the International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB®).

Certification exam

You can choose between online participation and an in-person event. We also offer our training courses on-site at your premises for your teams. In-house training courses are ideal if you want to train an entire team, for example.

A CPUX-F certificate is required to participate in the exams. Basic knowledge of human-centered design is sufficient to participate in the training.

You will gain a comprehensive overview of the methods of context of use analysis, identification of requirements and derivation of user requirements.

  • Through numerous accompanying exercises during the seminar, you will learn to apply these methods independently.
  • Targeted preparation for the theoretical and practical CPUX-UR examination.

You will gain an insight into the basic concepts of the following fields of competence based on theoretical principles and numerous practical examples:

  • Overview of the human-centred design process
  • Introduction to context of use analysis
  • Planning and implementation of context of use analysis
  • Identification of requirements
  • Deriving usage requirements
  • Prioritisation and reporting of user requirements
  • Cooperation and interfaces of the user requirements engineer with other roles and tasks in the human-centred design process

The contents of the seminar correspond to the curriculum and glossary of the International Usability and User Experience Qualification Board (UXQB®), which is recognised by 5 European professional associations of Usability Professionals (e.g. German UPA). 

  • All those involved in the development and design of systems, products and services.
  • Usability professionals who want to know more about the methodology of context of use analysis, the identification of user needs and the derivation of user requirements.
  • UX professionals who would like to refresh and certify their practical knowledge on the basis of the ISO standard.

The CPUX-F certificate is a prerequisite for participation in the CPUX-UR seminar.

Online Training:
  • 6 sessions of 2.5 hours each
  • 3 days
  • 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
  • The theoretical and practical exams can be taken online after making a personal appointment.
  • The practical exam can also be taken on one of our training days.
In-person Training:
  • 3 days
  • 9:00 a.m. to approx. 5:30 p.m.
  • The training takes place at the Spiegel Institute or in centrally located premises.
  • On the fourth day, you can take the practical exam directly (9:00 a.m. to approx. 3:00 p.m.). We will prepare you thoroughly for this.
  • The theoretical exam and the practical exam take place online after you have made a personal appointment.
